BIOGRAPHY / PERSONAL PROFILE

 

CATHY GABRIELLE-WALLACE has forty-four years experience in vocal performance and instruction. She received a Master of Arts in Music Education and Voice from the California State University, Fullerton. During and for several years after her studies at CSU, she was with the University of Southern California at the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts (ISOMATA).  Here she was a soloist, choral conductor, and vocal coach for the USC / Idyllwild Festival symphony and choir.  After her subsequent seven years teaching choir, voice, and musical theatre with Robert Holmes and John Ingle at Beverly Hills High School, she honed her Musical Stage craft with David Craig.  Cathy returned to teaching in Los Angeles after a decade touring in premier cabaret venues throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.  She has appeared on BBC television/radio in India, Singapore, the Philippines, and in Canada.  She has been a featured soloist in classical opera and oratorio roles in the United States.  From 1986 to ’94, she taught voice, vocal and musical stage performance at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Hollywood.  Currently Cathy teaches students of voice and musical stage performance in both individual and class settings, in West Los Angeles.
